Today In The Fishroom~12/05/10 H. Sp. Rio Salto & C. Intermedium

This Hericthys is as yet undescribed.  It looks very much like Carpinte, but is also different in many ways.  It was discoverd by Juan Miquel from the Cichlid Room Companion.

I always strive to keep either a species only tank, or combine fish that are found in the same water shed.  There are exceptions when tank mates is dictated by available tank space.  That's what happened with these two fish.  Both had their mate die...the Rio Salto responsible for killing his...and were placed in the same 100 gallon tank.  The Intermedium is a female and spends a lot of time in a very "cheesy" overturned ship (gift from the wife...she looks at it on the few times she comes downstairs.  LOL)



Here's she is swimming with a very nasty Rio Salto.  They have made signs that they were attempting to breed, but at this point nothing thankfully has happened.

So lucky Mo. İts almost impossible for us to get an F0 central babes. Maybe one day, shipping to turkey will be easy and fast, so we can take care of your fries..

Gotta love the color of carpinte. The other Herichthys has a cute face as well, unlike the carpinte :)
